Handbag AR — let shoppers see the real size of the bag on themselves before they order

"Is it bigger or smaller than it looks?" is the handbag question product photos rarely answer. Wearfits AR puts a true-to-scale 3D handbag on the shopper, straight from the product page, so they can judge size, strap drop, colour and leather finish before they add to cart. One 3D asset per model, colour and material.

AR covers shoes and bags; apparel uses Gen-AI try-on. AR shows how the bag looks at true-to-scale size and proportion; it does not show what fits inside or replace your listed dimensions and materials, which stay on the product page. A new colourway, leather finish or hardware colour is a separate 3D asset.

How Handbag AR works

From your bestselling bags to try-on on every matching product page.

Pick the hero bags

List the totes, crossbodies, shoulder bags and clutches you sell most, with size, colour and material for each.

Build the 3D bags

We create a true-to-scale asset per model, colour and material, from product photos or samples. See Photo to 3D.

Attach to product pages

Link the asset to the product. On Shopify, install the Wearfits Try-On app and connect products from the dashboard.

Promote it

Use the try-on link in gift guides, campaign emails, creator content and in-store QR codes.

Where it helps a handbag store

Typical moments where shoppers reach for AR try-on.

Mini versus large

Shoppers compare the mini and the large version of the same design at true-to-scale size on themselves.

Strap drop and carry

See where a crossbody or shoulder bag sits before ordering, instead of guessing from a flat-lay photo.

Colour and leather finish

Compare black smooth leather with a tan pebbled or a suede version of the same bag.

Gifting season

Add try-on to gift picks before Q4. See Gift guide AR.

Fewer "too small" returns

Seeing scale first can help with size-driven returns. See Returns AR.

Creators and email

One link opens the same try-on in creator posts and emails. See Creator AR and Email AR.

FAQ

Straight answers for handbag and leather goods retailers evaluating AR try-on.

Is Handbag AR a clothing try-on?

No. Wearfits AR is for shoes and bags only. Handbag AR shows a true-to-scale 3D bag on the shopper so they can judge size, proportion and look. Apparel uses WEARFITS Gen-AI try-on, a separate product.

Why does a handbag need try-on if the dimensions are listed?

Width, height and depth in centimetres are hard to picture. Seeing the bag at true-to-scale size against their own body helps shoppers tell a mini crossbody from a mid-size shoulder bag or a large tote, and judge strap drop and how the bag sits, before they order.

How many 3D assets do I need for a handbag range?

One 3D asset per model, colour and material. A new colourway, leather finish such as smooth versus pebbled or suede, or a different hardware colour needs its own asset. Size variants of the same model reuse the asset only when the bag itself does not change shape; a mini and a large version of the same design are separate assets.

Can we run Handbag AR on Shopify?

Yes. Install the Wearfits Try-On Shopify app, connect products from the dashboard and place try-on on the product page. See Shopify get started and the bags AR pilot.

Can we have it live before the gifting season?

A small pilot on 5 to 10 hero bags is the fastest route. Send the list early so the 3D bags are ready before your busiest gifting weeks. See Gift guide AR and Peak season AR.
