The honest opener

Most shoe try-on apps cover your whole catalog 8 products. Then they stop.

There's a familiar story in our category. Brand installs a virtual try-on app, picks the eight bestsellers, sees a nice conversion lift on those eight. Three months later, those eight products still have try-on. The other 292 don't.

The catalog has split into "modern" and "everything else," and the conversion lift on hero SKUs starts to look suspicious — was it the try-on, or were those products always going to convert?

We built the WEARFITS Shopify app for the rest of the catalog. Install it from the App Store, connect it to your store, and within a couple of hours the AI pipeline has read your existing product photos and started generating 3D models in the background. By the end of the day, customers can tap "Try On" on any product page in your store. Not eight. All of them.

We didn't get there by being clever about the install flow. We got there by spending years figuring out how to generate realistic 3D shoes from a single 2D packshot, and then hooking that pipeline directly into the Shopify API.

"The hero-SKU trap is the quiet failure mode of virtual try-on. Nobody talks about it because the demo always looks great. We built the Shopify app specifically to avoid it." WEARFITS Team · Krakow
How it works

Three things happen automatically.

No CAD files. No photoshoots. No 3D specialists. No per-asset fees. The AI does the work — your team stays in their existing Shopify workflow.

01

Your existing photos become 3D models

You don't upload anything new. Our AI reads the product photography you already have on Shopify and generates a 3D model for each shoe — typically minutes per product. We can digitize up to 100 shoes in under 2 hours.

02

Try-on shows up on every product page

The "Try On" button appears on your Shopify product pages without theme changes for standard themes. Customers tap it, point their phone camera at their feet, and see your shoe rendered on them in real time. iOS and Android, no app downloads.

03

New products get covered automatically

When you add a new shoe to your Shopify catalog, our app picks it up, generates the 3D model, and activates try-on. Your merchandising team's existing workflow doesn't change. No tickets to file with us.

Pricing

Three plans. Every plan ships with a 14-day free trial.

Install the app, point it at your real catalog, and see actual try-on running on actual products before paying us anything.

The numbers

What footwear brands actually care about.

No single hero stat with a question mark next to it. Real ranges, with the honest version of what produces them.

+30%

Conversion lift on PDPs

Brands typically see 20–30% conversion lift on products with realistic try-on enabled — when coverage extends to the full catalog, not just hero SKUs.

−25%

Returns reduction

Footwear returns average 18% online. On a $1M shoe business, a 25% reduction is a $54K–$63K annual swing once processing and resale costs are included.

73K

Try-on sessions in 60 days

One retail customer running our try-on processed 73,000 sessions on production traffic over 60 days — on real customer phones, not a controlled demo.

Why we're different

How WEARFITS compares to other shoe try-on options on Shopify.

Most “virtual try-on” apps in the Shopify ecosystem fall into one of three categories. Here's where each works — and where WEARFITS sits.

Sticker apps 3D upload apps Configurator-only The way we built it
Catalog coverage All SKUs !Hero SKUs only !Custom products All SKUs
Realism Flat 2D overlay Photoreal Photoreal Photoreal AR
3D asset source None You upload CAD/scans You build configurator AI from your photos
Setup time Minutes Weeks per SKU Months A few hours
Per-asset cost Differentiator None $200–$800 / SKU + $35/SKU 3D Custom dev None. Ever.
Works on Android Yes !Flagship only !Flagship only All devices
Auto-coverage of new SKUs N/A Manual upload Manual config Automatic
Conversion impact Low (flat AR) High on hero SKUs High on custom High across full catalog
Best for Demo brands Big budgets, 8 hero SKUs Made-to-order Production shoe stores
Sticker appsThe cheap way to claim “virtual try-on” — a flat 2D shoe image overlaid on the customer's foot via basic AR. Realism is poor and conversion lift is marginal.
3D upload appsThe high-end alternative — beautiful realism, but only on the SKUs you can afford to digitize. Most brands max out at 8 hero products.
Configurator-only platformsGreat if you sell custom or made-to-order shoes (Hockerty is one of our customers — and they use a configurator alongside our try-on). They don't help if your catalog is fixed-spec.
WEARFITS sits in the gap. Photoreal AR like the 3D upload apps, full-catalog coverage like sticker apps, no per-asset cost, no upload step. We built the Shopify app specifically to occupy that gap.

FAQ

Questions worth asking any VTO vendor.

Including us. If a vendor can't answer all four cleanly, you've found the bottleneck that's going to kill your scaling.

1. Where do the 3D models come from?

Ours: AI-generated from your existing Shopify product photos. No upload, no per-asset fee, no specialist team. If a vendor's answer involves uploading 3D models or paying per asset, multiply your catalog size by the per-asset cost — that's the real price.

2. How long from install to live on a product page?

Ours: A few hours. No onboarding call required (you can book one if you want — we like talking to merchants — but it's not gated). "We'll schedule onboarding" is the wrong answer.

3. What happens when you add a new product?

Ours: It picks up automatically. You don't do anything. If a vendor's answer involves a manual step, you've found the bottleneck that will kill your scaling.

4. Does it work on Android?

Ours: Yes — and on the mid-range Android devices the majority of your customers actually carry, not only on flagship iPhones. Ask any vendor for a live link to a real product page running their VTO and open it on whatever phone you have lying around.

How much does the WEARFITS Shopify app cost?

Three tiers, all with a 14-day free trial: Bronze $49/mo (up to 10 products), Silver $99/mo (up to 100 products), Gold $199/mo (up to 250 products). Annual billing saves 17% on every tier. Larger catalogs need a custom Plus plan.

Do you support bags or apparel?

The Shopify app currently launches with shoes only. Our engine supports bags through a direct integration with our team (same photo-to-3D pipeline, configured for handbag categories). Apparel goes through our Gen AI platform. Get in touch for either.

The smallest commitment is a 14-day free trial.

Install the app, point it at your actual catalog, and run try-on on your actual products before paying. We'd rather have you do that than read another comparison article — including our own.
